About Us

Calnan Brothers is a family run business which was established in September 1971. Our philosophy is simple, we love two things: Our family and the meat trade, and both are encapsulated in the unique enterprise we have headed now for over 40 years in Oxfordshire.

Today we have over 130 years combined experience as expert butchers sourcing and preparing the finest meats that can be found in Britain and abroad. This level of expertise focused in a small family business is unrivalled. The group has always been family owned and run, and despite many avenues open to us for growth over the years we have remained focused on three simple areas: sourcing the highest quality meats in Britain and abroad; a relentless pursuit of excellence in customer service; and creating an intimate community of happy customers.

When placing an order or sending an email to Calnan Brothers you will automatically receive a confirmation email. If you have not received one, please check your junk mail. However, in the unlikely event of not receiving a confirmation email at all, please contact us immediately.

We offer a delivery service to all of Didcot, Watlington, Wallingford, Thame and their surrounding areas. 
We delivery to the following post code areas:
OX1, OX2, OX9, OX1, OX11, OX14, OX39, OX44, OX49, RG9 & HP14
Unfortunately specific delivery times cannot be arranged.  However, we aim to deliver your order between 8.00 – 14.00.  If you are out for some reason and personally can’t receive the delivery, please leave delivery instructions for our driver to follow, i.e leave by the back door, leave in the garage or leave in the porch.  Delivery instructions can be left when completing you order.
Yes you can, at no extra cost.  Please select collect from The Watlington shop when checking out.  We operate a click and collect service from Thursday to Friday with only 24 hour’s notice needed.  There is a £25 minimum order.
Your order will be delivered in an excellent condition. Products are well packaged and are delivered in our refrigerated van.  This will ensure your order arrives in perfect condition. 
All orders of £25 and over will be delivered free of charge.  Due to high delivery costs we cannot take any orders under £25.
Once you have placed your order, it will be delivered within two working days.  Please see the table below to see expected delivery times:

Your order will be delivered by one of our refrigerated vans to ensure that your order gets to you in time and in the best condition possible.   
In the unlikely event of your order not being delivered please contact us immediately either via telephone, email or Whatsapp.  
Due to all of our meats being freshly prepared it is not possible to cancel your order.

All of our meats are fresh unless stated.  We believe that meat should be enjoyed as fresh as possible. 
By signing up to newsletter you will be the first to know about our special offers, new products, recipes, meal planners and meat facts.
Once you have placed your order, you will automatically receive a confirmation email.
Yes you can.  When checking out you will be asked to pick a delivery date that suits you.
There is a £25 minimum spend with Calnan Brothers which does include free delivery.  We do not accept orders under £25 online
Our site is protected by a world renowned software business.  All your card and personal details will be kept safe at all times.  


Calnan Brothers is renowned for sourcing the best quality possible.  All of our meats are reared in the UK unless stated, and are of the highest quality. 
Most of our meats are available all year round.  However, meats such as game are only available between October and February. Please see our seasonal selections. 
Each product has been labelled with a use by date so you will know exactly how long you have to eat it.  
Most of our products are gluten free but we have made it clear on our website and packaging which products are not gluten free.  
All of our products have ingredients printed on them and can be seen on the product page.  Please get in contact if you have any further questions on ingredients,

We can send an email reminding you of your login details that you entered when you registered. 
Once you have placed your order, you it is not possible  to amend your order up to 7 pm, 48 hours prior to your deliver day.
